– ABOUT SARAH CLARK –
Sarah Clark was born and raised in Adelaide. Based at Littlehampton, through hard work, dedication and talent she has risen to the top of 3-day Eventing in Australia. She is listed on the Australian National Talent Identification Squad and has been the South Australian Rider of the Year for three consecutive years, 2018 – 2021, and again in 2022, when she also produced and campaigned the South Australian horse of the year LV Balou Jeanz. With Jeanz she qualified and was long listed for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
In 2022 she used all of her savings and flew to Europe with Jeanz in pursuit of her dream to compete at the Burghley Horse Trials in the UK, one of the toughest in the world. The risk paid off and a successful placing at 22nd out of the strongest global field of over 70, marked a successful transition to the international stage.
Throughout her career to date Sarah has had to rely on her own financial resources. There is very little national or equestrian Olympic funding – even for athletes with the highest potential – and Sarah has had to rely on her keen eye for buying young horses with potential, developing them and selling them on to fund her competing. Without a property in the UK to do the same, Sarah needs our help. She’s had some support from family and friends and a loyal following amongst the knowledgeable and passionate SA eventing fraternity, but it’s not enough.
Now facing limited funding, Sarah is seeking support to continue her European journey beyond the 2024 season. With aspirations to represent Australia in prestigious competitions including the Olympics, she needs financial backing to build her base and continue competing at the highest level.
The Hurley Family is delighted to host this event and looks forward to the Adelaide community coming together to support Sarah. Each ticket sold contributes $50 towards Sarah’s cause, and all earnings from the live and silent auctions will directly aid her in staying in the UK to represent Australia in prestigious 5-star equestrian events. Full list of auction items will be released soon.
